History & Info: Pi Lo Chun or “Spring Green Snail” in English is one of the most well loved teas in China. Originally called “Astounding Fragrance” for its fruity scent, the tea was renamed by Emperor Kang Xi who thought that the tea looked like tiny green snails when steeped. Being so well loved, the tea is on the list of the Ten Most Famous Teas of China.
Like other green teas it contains many of the vital phytonutrients that help to maintain health and longevity. These nutrients have been found to support healthy blood pressure, gums, lean body mass, hair follicles, colon, and prostate health, as well as brain, immune, respiratory, cardiovascular, liver, and bladder functions. Pi Lo Chun is a light green tea that is very fresh on the palate and mildly fruity. The steeped leaves of Pi Lo Chun fall to the bottom of the cup like snowflakes, creating a pleasing spectacle.
Enjoy a cup of health!
